Nature of V4 ratings
V4 ratings are the analytical opinions of Valence Four Carbon Ratings Private Limited, based on publicly available information and field verification conducted at the time of assessment. They are not statements of fact.
V4 ratings reflect the state of available information at the date of assessment. They may change if new information becomes available or if material events occur after the assessment date.
Not a guarantee
A V4 rating is not a guarantee that the rated carbon credits will perform as described, that emission reductions have occurred or will continue to occur, or that the project will remain compliant with applicable standards.
A high V4 rating does not mean that the credits are suitable for any particular purchaser's needs, risk appetite, or regulatory requirements.
Not legal, financial, or investment advice
V4 ratings and reports are analytical outputs for sophisticated market participants. They do not constitute legal advice, financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or any form of regulated advice or recommendation.
You should seek independent professional advice before making any procurement, investment, lending, or compliance decision based on V4 ratings.
Not a registry or verifier
Valence Four is not a carbon credit registry. We do not register, approve, or issue carbon credits. We do not conduct third-party verification of monitoring reports on behalf of registries.
V4 ratings are independent of and not endorsed by Verra, Gold Standard, or any other carbon credit registry.
Information sources
V4 ratings are based on project design documents, monitoring reports, verification statements, registry data, satellite imagery, India-specific data sources (ISRO Bhuvan, FSI, CEA, IMD), and field verification where conducted. V4 does not audit the accuracy of information provided by project developers or registries.
Where a project developer, registry, or third party has provided inaccurate or incomplete information that affects a rating, V4 will update the rating when the inaccuracy is identified but does not accept liability for losses arising from reliance on the original rating.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, Valence Four Carbon Ratings Private Limited, its directors, employees, and advisors shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or cost arising from reliance on V4 ratings, regardless of whether such loss was foreseeable.
